Since graduating its first class in 2002, the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA) has proudly guided its students toward acceptance at hundreds of distinguished colleges and universities, as well as participation in a wide variety of meaningful gap year programs in Israel and across the globe. This legacy of success is a testament to DKJA’s holistic, student-centered approach to post-secondary planning.

At the heart of this success is the school’s dedicated College Counseling program, which is uniquely designed to support all students as they navigate the complexities of the college admissions process. Whether students are applying to a top-tier university, exploring international opportunities, or considering a gap year experience, the counseling team works closely with them to ensure they find the path that best aligns with their individual goals, interests, and values.

DKJA students have gone on to attend some of the most competitive institutions in the world, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, MIT, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Northwestern, and the University of Pennsylvania, among many others. This consistent placement at elite universities reflects not only the academic strength of DKJA students but also the expertise of the school’s College Counselors, who bring decades of experience in both secondary and higher education settings.

Leveraging deep institutional knowledge, cutting-edge technology, and a personalized approach, the College Counseling team empowers students to develop targeted college lists, craft compelling applications, and stay informed about the ever-changing landscape of admissions. The result is a process that feels both supportive and strategic—helping students take confident steps toward a future shaped by purpose and potential.

Four Year Program

Our College Counseling Program is a four-year student-focused partnership with students, faculty and families. Together, we strive to help students determine their individual academic program in order to achieve their collegiate goals.

  • Freshman Year: students participate in Mentor Groups, which provides them with the skills and resources needed for success in High School, and ultimately in the college application process.
  • Sophomore Year: students continue to refine standardized testing skills and are guided in selecting appropriate elective courses for the remainder of High School.
  • Junior Year: students collaborate with the College Guidance Counselor to identify their appropriate choice of colleges as they begin to draft their essays and plan visits to college campuses.
  • Senior Year: students begin their applications, revise their essays, select teachers for their recommendation letters, and continue to visit their top-choice colleges. Seniors individually work with our counselor to compile and submit application materials.
